History of Television

Television was created by many inventors.  And over the years, many people have contributed to the evolution of TV.  The very first television sets were not entirely electronic and they used a motor-generator.  This screen displayed a blurry reddish-orange picture.  The picture was only about the size of a business card!  The period before 1935 is called the "Mechanical television Era".  During the late 1930's the electronic TV was perfected.  Countries began to broadcast, but many people didn't have TV sets.  In 1950-1959, electronic color televisions were launched.  Remote controls were also released during this decade.  As technology continues to advance, we are continuing to make advances in television.  There is now a 3-D television for private use!  What a change TV has gone through; it use to be crazy to own a TV, and now you are considered odd without a TV!  98 percent of US homes have a TV, and in each house the TV is on for at least 7 hours a day!  Nearly 39 percent of phone owners can now watch television on their personal mobile phone!  Television is now considered to be the number one source for entertainment and a powerful source for information.  Could you imagine living without a TV?
